Michael Calder has experience in both the private and public sector. He began his professional career as a planner within Maldon District Council's Development Control Department before moving to private practice and becoming a consultant at Strutt and Parker LLP in 2004 as a Planning Consultant.
In 2005 he joined Andrew Martin Associates working his way up to Principal Planner. In 2009 Andrew Martin Associates were acquired by Capita Symonds and he worked within the Planning and Design team of a multi-disciplinary FTSE 100 company. He currently holds the position of Director at Phase 2 Planning Ltd having joined the firm in 2012. In consultancy, Michael has acted for a range of clients and managed a varied portfolio of projects covering the full range of planning matters including guiding proposals through the complex planning application and appeal process, enforcement and Local Plan promotion. He has provided expert evidence at Inquiries and Local Plan Examinations.
