Green belt redevelopment for 17 dwellings
Green Belt Redevelopment
Planning permission was obtained in Spring 2016 for the residential redevelopment of Writtle College’s satellite equine teaching facility, which is located outside the village of Writtle and within the Green Belt. The project was undertaken on behalf of Stonebond Properties Ltd an Essex based housebuilder.

Writtle College decided to relocate the equine operations from this site leaving the site redundant with its future uncertain. This planning application permits the erection of 17 dwellings comprising houses and bungalows following the principles established by the National Planning Policy Framework relating to redevelopment of previously developed land (Brownfield land) in the Green Belt.

The proposal demonstrated a net gain to openness of the Green Belt, its most important attribute, and was approved locally following officer and committee support for the proposal. The scheme will be delivered shortly
