Polymer Latex site / Stoke Prior / Bromsgrove
Outline planning permission for 157 homes
Redevelopment of Brownfield / Previously Developed Land
The Polymer Latex site was a chemical works extending to around 9 hectares in area, situated at the village of Stoke Prior to the south of Bromsgrove. The site had been used for a number of industrial purposes over the years, having originally been developed as a salt-extraction works. It contained a variety of substantial modern plant and buildings, as well as features of industrial heritage interest, and large areas of disturbed and contaminated ground.

The site was allocated for commercial use in the adopted Local Plan, but it was evident that re-use for commercial purposes was unlikely to be viable, given the specialist nature of the plant and cost of redevelopment, and there was a need for additional land for housing.

The Practice led a multi-disciplinary team in preparing for and securing an Outline planning permission for the redevelopment of the site to provide 157 residential units, a care home and neighbourhood facilities, including co-ordinating the Environmental Impact Assessment.
