Planning permission was obtained for the erection of a hangar for aircraft repair and restoration at Duxford Imperial War Museum in 2015 on behalf of Aircraft Restoration Company (ARC) who is the largest of the specialist aero engineering companies sited at Duxford Airfield, Cambridgeshire.
From this historic base the company provides an extensive range of aviation services for aircraft owners. ARC undertake major servicing, restorations and repairs on historic aircraft for a number of warbird owners in the UK and abroad, and in addition to projects for the MOD and RNHF, have secured the contract for major servicing of The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight fighter aircraft, Dakota and Lancaster.
The new hangar was completed in 2016 and is primarily used for the major servicing of The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight fighter Lancaster aircraft which is one of only 2 remaining original aircraft left in the world. Phase 2 Planning were present for its arrival at Duxford.
