EP Consult Energies required a brand management programme to propagate and provide governance over a range of marketing materials and internal communication.
The brand identity and small amount of theming was created prior to Diablo’s involvement. However, assimilating the previous development methods and translating the material into a cohesive set of brand materials would involve a range of targeted design disciplines.
The first task was to establish a concise set of brand guidelines. The guides help document the brands colour palette/breakdown, common rulings and identity variants. They assist suppliers and staff with quickly referencing and implementing brand components where required.
During development there emerged a need to develop a strapline that encapsulated the company’s ethos. The ‘Intelligent Engineering’ component was constructed to be used in isolation or to reinforce brand values as a sign off within a campaign. The component utilises a segment of the Core logo to demonstrate an obvious relation.
To generate interest and dynamics within the layout the brand design employs angled components that reflect elements within the logo. The brand retains a disciplined and restricted colour palette due to the strength of the ‘hot’ colours. These tones are mirrored within the group of stock shots chosen to provide a photographic resource across all materials.
THE PROJECT ENCOMPASSED TRANSLATION OF THE BRAND THROUGHOUT A WIDE RANGE OF MATERIALS
A large part of the project was implementing the brand design within internal templating for use in reporting and documentation. Retaining key design components and structure within Office based applications and maintaining accurate colour matching through in-house printers proved one of the more challenging aspects of the programme.
The project encompassed translation of the brand throughout a wide range of materials including: company stationery, advertising/email campaigns, corporate literature, data sheets/leaflets, event banners, posters, PowerPoint master guides, info graphics, binder covers and internal reporting templates.
