BRIEF
Smiths Interconnect is a leading provider of electronic components worldwide. A large scale divisional rebranding programme was required with a focus on precise and managed delivery.

Complex issues required resolution including creation of an umbrella identity to successfully amalgamate a group of sub divisions, communicate the restructure and revise the treatment of the existing and disparate brands.

A GROUP OF STRICT GUIDELINES WAS ESTABLISHED FROM THE OUTSET

A campaign identity was created to introduce the new structure. Constructed from a group of scalene triangles the segments can be used as individual business components or combined to form a whole.

The rebranded image assumes longevity and aims to project technology and ultimate company capability.Branding was rolled out through a group of divisions throughout Europe, the US and Asia. In order to facilitate and manage the rebrand over a tight schedule it was important from the outset to establish a group of strict guidelines and templates.

A brand guidelines document was constructed to govern common design rulings. The guides defined the new colour palette, typical design components, layouts and themes, typography revisions and substitutes, photography assets and approach.

Diablo assisted with the design, management and production of a wide variety of media during the programme. Including the revision of the corporate overview and 6 market sector product brochures (A4 and US Letter formats). These included creating improved design consistency between the collateral, constructing an adaptive string type product grid, schematic illustrations styling and a bolder approach to layout and scale.

Further design media extended to: rebranding launch advertising in both traditional press and web banner ad formats; internal posters introducing restructure; objectives and core products; PowerPoint master slide design; Space Tech Expo exhibition stand design; touch screen presentation design guide for an investors launch; product data sheet design and template assets.
